I Pierced my Barbie's ears.
00:01
[Lynn laughs]
00:03
I would go through my mom's little jewelry box
00:05
and take her studs and pierce my Barbie's ears.
00:08
Not that they would stay in there, obviously, the earrings,
00:11
but I definitely tried to straighten my Barbie's hair once.
00:15
It ruined my straightener [Lynn laughs]
00:18
completely.
00:19
I'm like oh, this'll work.
00:20
It's like synthetic plastic hair melting on my straightener.
00:24
Did it get straight? No.
00:25
No. [Lynn laughs]
00:32
I went to LA when I was 14 for the first time
00:36
to meet with an acting coach and see
00:38
if this was something that I could actually do.
00:40
And then, when I was 18, I moved to LA by myself.
00:44
I bought a one-way ticket to LA,
00:47
didn't know when I was gonna return,
00:49
didn't have much money in my bank account,
00:51
and had my fingers crossed and basically sat around
00:55
all day everyday waiting for an audition,
00:57
waiting for something to do; it was quite miserable.
01:01
I booked Riverdale after I moved back to LA
01:04
for the second time.
01:06
I moved home after going for the first time
01:08
because I ran out of money, and I was incredibly depressed
01:11
and unhealthy, so I moved back home.
01:14
And when I moved back out for the second time,
01:17
I was able to audition for Riverdale in person,
01:20
and I got it.
01:22
When I went back home, I knew that I was
01:25
gonna end up going back out eventually.
01:27
I just knew that I needed to save up money,
01:29
and I needed to see a therapist to
01:33
help me.
01:35
I really needed to just take care of myself
01:37
for six months before I went back out and tried again.
01:41
I went back to my job at Pier 1 Imports,
01:43
where I was a sales associate,
01:45
and I worked for six more months
01:48
until I saved up very little amount of money
01:51
and then moved back and tried again.
01:53
Acting was always my plan.
01:55
I didn't want a plan B.
01:57
I knew that'd be easy to fall back on
02:00
if things got hard, and I knew things were gonna get hard,
02:02
and they did, but I stayed true to what I wanted.
02:06
I knew I wanted to perform, and I was gonna make it work.
02:10
So I went back to my job at Pier 1
02:13
and [Lynn laughs]
02:14
saved up that money and tried again, and it worked.
02:20
[Lynn] Where was your first kiss, real kiss?
02:23
It was on set of a movie.
02:25
I was so nervous.
02:26
I think I didn't really even process that I had to do it
02:29
until I was there, and I was like, oh shit,
02:32
I'm about to make out with someone for the first time.
02:35
And it was horrifying, and my mom was on set,
02:38
not that she really cared,
02:40
not that it was that awkward for us
02:41
'cause we're close, but it was definitely strange.
02:46
And it was an older guy, so that was weird.
02:48
Afterwards, I was thinking, wow,
02:50
I didn't even really have to try that hard.
02:52
I was like, I didn't really have
02:53
to think about what I was doing.
02:55
It just sort of happened. [Lynn laughs]
02:57
So I guess that was a relief.
02:59
I think I was just happy to have it over with.
03:02
Filming Riverdale, I'm doing things now in my life
03:05
that I never would've ever thought I'd get to experience.
03:08
I got to fire a gun, not that I even had an interest
03:12
in doing that.
03:13
I don't know if you'll it in the show,
03:15
but I think Betty will get married before I get married.
03:18
How about that?
03:20
For Hustlers, I took two pole-dancing classes.
03:23
[Lynn] Oh wow, how was that?
03:24
It was challenging, but I'm kinda good at it.
03:27
You are, really? Now I have a party trick.
03:29
If we're ever at a strip club, I'll be like,
03:31
hey, let me show you guys. [Lynn laughs]
03:32
I can go upside down if someone helps me.
03:36
I did not wanna be a Disney kid.
03:38
[Lynn laughs]
03:40
We'll leave it at that.
03:42
Oh, sadly, I did have posters on my wall.
03:46
I had a poster of Zac Efron on my wall
03:49
from High School Musical, of course.
03:51
I was a big High School Musical girl,
03:53
so I had Zac Efron on my wall,
03:55
I had Vanessa Hudgens on my wall,
03:57
pretty sure I had Ashley Tisdale on my wall.
03:59
I followed all the High School Musicals. [laughs]
04:03
[Lynn] What was your favorite Halloween costume?
04:05
I was a strawberry when I was four or three,
04:10
three or four, and I looked really cute, I have to say.
04:13
I was a little strawberry.
04:14
[Lynn] Did you then bring it back
04:15
as a sexy strawberry, something--
04:17
No, I don't believe in that.
04:19
I see Halloween as a way to be weird
04:22
and scary rather than sexy.
04:24
You can be sexy pretty much any time ever,
04:27
but use this opportunity to be scary
04:30
and scare some bitches. [Lynn laughs]
