[Helena] I've done two queens this year.
So, there's the Red Queen and then I did the Queen Mum.
But you approach each queen differently.
You know, you don't just go,
oh, just roll out the queen choices.
If you have real authority,
you don't have to assert your authority.
You let people come to you.
You don't have to.
It's just an innate poise, I guess.
I've no idea really what I'm talking about but.
Oh, they have to have a sense of humor.
The queen's got a great sense of humor.
And the Queen Mother was really funny.
I mean, she was really witty.
She said there was something that somebody said
the other day that Noël Coward was eyeing up
some of the footmen and she, you know,
said to him, that I wouldn't do that, Noël,
'cause they count them before they put them out.
The Red Queen was really funny but she was bonkers.
Most insane people are funny, I find.
That's why I'm drawn to them.
And, you know, she had a big head.
You couldn't go wrong with that size head.
I mean, she had to be funny.
But I was inspired by the toddler, you know, in me.
My inner toddler.
Toddler's have big heads and it's that kind of age
where it's just totally all about them, you know.
So, I just thought the queen
hadn't really grown beyond that age of two.
The Red Queen.
Yeah, when I was really, really young
I really loved Jane Seymour.
Yeah, yeah, she was just so beautiful.
She was like the princess I wanted to grow up to be.
She had a choker on and her head was cut off, so.
Yeah, the very first thing was something called
A Pattern of Roses and I was a ghost, an Edwardian ghost.
Yeah, I'd like to do another ghost actually.
I enjoyed getting into all of those costumes.
I like dressing up
and pretending to be in a different era.
So is typecasting, when I thought,
well, that's an inevitable one way
and it's kinda good, enjoyable typecasting.
It's better than Bimbo.
Yes, I've had my head cut off then, yeah.
I've had it cut off a few times
'cause I did Anne Boleyn.
And then I ended up chopping people's heads off
in the last queen, well, the second to last.
She's called Nell.
Nell, I'll show you a picture of Nell.
I get him to do things through spells,
you know, if he's not gonna do it,
I just throw it like, you will brush your teeth.
Oh no, the spells come, you know, really useful.
Nell does spells back to me.
She's always turning me into a mouse or a frog.
Yeah, and doesn't want to change me back.
That's the problem.
