Inside Spider-Man: Homecoming Star Laura Harrier's Brooklyn Hideaway from Peter Parker
Instead of a costume change, à la Peter Parker, Spider-Man: Homecoming star Laura Harrier gets away from all the big-screen drama by holing up in her ceramics studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Take a look inside, here.
Released on 7/5/2017
I like to think about the ghost of Patrick Swayze
behind me guiding my hands.
Hey, I'm Laura Harrier.
I'm gonna be in the new Spiderman that comes out this July.
I'm playing Liz Allan, the love interest of Peter Parker.
We are here at my ceramics studio in Brooklyn today
and I'm making you some pots!
So, let's see if we can make a bowl,
like one and a half pounds would be good.
You need to start kneading the clay.
It's kinda making me outta breath.
Like I've been doing this forever.
First thing we do is center the clay.
Staring down it's a little hypnotizing.
You kinda just like are completely out of it.
So, now that it kind of is there,
I'm gonna start to make the hole.
I'm gonna widen it.
I'm gonna open up the center.
I think an actor's a weird job
because you are, sort of, an artist or whatever
but you don't have this tangible thing that you make.
It was actually right after I tested for Spiderman,
they made me wait like 6 weeks before I heard anything
and I was going crazy.
So I took a ceramics class
and I just kind of got back into it.
You start with this lump of nothing
and then you can create all these things.
And it's just nice to make things with your hands.
And now, we're gonna bring up the walls.
And it'll keep getting taller, like that.
And then we'll, sort of, start to shape it into our bowl.
So, I think this guy is done.
It was like a ghost,
but then was in a flashback, too.
I think they were, like, having ghosty clay sex.
