I remember one birthday, I
think it was my 14th birthday.

I had moved out to LA.

It was me and my dad that had
to move out to LA obviously,

because my mom was still working.

She worked two jobs out back in Oakland,

and we had a house, and a dog there.

It was hard to be without
my mom for such a long time

We just take out, frozen food,

that was what we lived off of.

So then, on the morning of my birthday,

I wake up and I open my apartment door,

and all my family comes in,
and then my mom walks in,

it was just great because I
just missed them all so much.

and a different environment, that's hard.

So I was so happy to see my mom.
