So my brother and I, we didn't have a VHS player.
My family were quite sort of old-fashioned,
in the sense that, you know, we were sort of having to read,
and do things like that, but when you're kind
of six or seven, it's a little bit frustrating
so then we would go to my cousin's house and we'd
sit and watch all these delightful VHSs,
catching up on everything we'd missed out on.
Star Wars was very much part of our education,
and I remember just distinctly sitting really,
I don't know why I was sitting so close
to the television, and then cross-legged
and then looking up as the, you know, the wonderful
kind of opening crawl was sliding up the screen,
and being really quite moved and entertained by it.
It's wonderful, it makes it so exciting,
especially when you get a paper script and a file
with a zip and a lock,
(someone laughs offscreen)
and a key that is just the best way to receive a script,
and then told not to give that key to any other living
It's delightful because it's important to keep
a sense of wonder and anticipation.
You know, we know everything about everything.
I think ultimately audiences really appreciate
there being a little bit of suspense about the film
they're gonna see.
I can say it's called Rogue One, and it's coming
to a cinema near you, on December the 16th.
I play Jyn also.
I'm always completely sort of slightly breathless
about James Dean.
I mean, he obviously, did so few films.
I know, I mean, and three great ones.
I think the vulnerability and the sort of
not controlling the performance too much.
I think it's that thing like James Dean,
where they're a bit skinless.
Yeah, it's quite, quite precious.
I was completely obsessed with this boy
who was a skater, which I just thought
was the coolest thing ever, and he had glitter hair gel.
I went to girls school and he was at the boys school
and we'd be walking home after school and pass each other.
He was my first crush.
[Interviewer] And where did the kiss take place?
Outside his house.
It was pretty good.
I was just obsessed with him.
He was sort of, yeah!
Yeah, he was just really into it.
